Amy,
Unfortunately, due to the hormones produced, fibroids tend to grow during pregnancy, making them more uncomfortable as they become larger and the baby grows. They also put you at an increased risk of uterine irritability (general uterine cramps, not contractions) and premature contractions and labor.
Regarding the percocet usage: I try to explain it to my patients this way-when your body is in pain, you produce stress hormones. These hormones effect the baby as well as you. The percocet may have a similar effect on the baby that it does on you-sleepiness mostly. But in your case, your doctor has determined that the benefits to you and the baby outweigh the risks. I wouldn't recommend taking it frequently over long periods of time, but there is nothing wrong with taking them when you are in unbearable pain.
I hope I've answered all your questions. If not, please ask and I'd be glad to clarify. You're not expected to pay for an answer until you're satisfied. I'll be glad to leave you a positive feedback once you've accepted.
