Sent to Health Experts December 15, 2007 8:50 a.m.

Yesterday I began experiencing extreme stabbing pains in the top right side of my head. It was so severe occuring every 30-45 mins and lasting for atleast 2 mins at a time. It would stop me in my tracks, and I would just put pressure with my hand. My husband and 4 children were scared, but I don''t like going to the hospital. He wanted me to go, and throughout the night kept checking on me. It has already started this morning. What could this be?

Optional Information:

Hi,

Do you have any prior history of migraine?

Did you have nausea and vomiting?

Did you have any blurring of vision or blackouts?

I am available online to help you further after I get this info.

I have had migraines during pregnancy, but never outside of being pregnant. I did not have nausea, but did at one point become slightly dizzy, and blacked out for a few seconds.

Hi, this looks like a migraine attack to me. The severe stabbing pain on one side of the head , black outs and dizziness are signs of a migraine attack. Read up here for treatment.
