flymami07,

For those that are pregnant for the first time, the norm is around 4 or 5 months, but I have known some women who take even longer. Women who are not pregnant for the first time, tend to show sooner. I have known some who start showing within a month. It is very variable for everyone so there is no set normal.
As far as the fluttering, this is most likely your baby moving and kicking.
At first the kicks you notice will be few and far between. In fact, you may feel several movements one day and then none the next. Although your baby is moving and kicking regularly, many of his jerks and jolts aren't yet strong enough for you to feel. But later in the second trimester, those kicks will become stronger and more regular. There are many descriptions of what it feels like- popcorn popping, fish swimming around, and butterflies fluttering. Some women also mistaken it for hunger pangs. You're more likely to feel it when you're sitting or lying quietly.

I feel them mostly when I am sitting or laying down.. I dont really notice them when I stand although I probably havent paid much attention but it does feel how you described like butterflies in my tummy but not hunger pangs. Does my weight have anything to do with me not showing a lot?

the doctor didn't tell me anything about my weight even when I was heavier when I first got pregnant. I do eat a lot now and talk about going to the bathroom a lot.. My bladder seems to get full very fast and its very uncomfortable to me if I don't pee even if its just a little bit.

oh ok.. I see. I was worried because I've read that being overweight isnt sometimes good for the health of the baby. So i shouldnt worry about not showing quite yet?.. are there signs I should look out for?

thanks so much.. i will try not to worry much about not showing a lot. Should my belly feel hard all around or just in some spots? I've felt around it and towards my belly button it feels harder then other spots which just feel a little hard. Also, sitting here typing to you I felt this kind of sharp, tightening pains and I had to stretch my legs out and kind of lean back in my chair for a few seconds and the pain went away. Is that normal?
