I am pregnant with my third child. During both of my previous csections I experienced palpatations (approximately 175 beats per minute about 5 minutes after they administered the spinal for the csection. It lasted for about 5 minutes and then returned to normal. About 10 minutes after that I started vomiting both times for about 5 minutes then i was fine. I also experienced a few palpatations during the last few months of both pregnancies from time to time. I saw a cardiologist postpartum and he found no abnormalities. My question is is it normal for the heart rate to increase that high during both csections? What could cause this? Is it dangerous to me or the baby ? Is there anyway to prevent this type of episode during my 3rd delivery? Nobody seems to be able to answer my questions and i would be forever greatful to get an educated answer. P.s. I noticed that my heart would also palpatate during pregnancy when i took any type of medication but not to the same extreme as the delivery. Is there a condition that causes pregnant womens hearts to accelerate every time they are given meds????
