Can severe stress and getting emotionally upset hurt an unborn child? I'm about 17 weeks pregnant and had some awful things happen to me recently in my life. I had a bit of a minor break down of sorts and now I'm worried for the health of my baby. thanks.

HI Rachel,

It is not good to have that kind of stress when your pregnant. It increases stress hormones, blood pressure and heart rate. You don't get good sleep, and most likely do not eat as well. I would not get overly worried at this point. Just keep in mind that stress causes these reactions. Wich over time will have an effect on your health, as well as your baby.
