Question

pregnancy

Sent to Health Experts November 23, 2005 11:51 a.m.

My girlfriend is late for her period 2 days. She claims her menstrual cycle is like clock work, always on time. She hasn't been stressed, physically active, etc. She has been diagnosed with HPV and her gynecologist told her that it would be hard for her to bear children. She is on birth control and I withdrawl everytime. About a month ago she had a cone biopsy thinga magera done to her uterus to check for cancerous cells. Is there anyway that the procedure she had could promote a pregnancy? What are the chances of her getting pregnant giving the circumstances? I know I jumped the gun on the question about pregnancy and I have gone A_WALL because she is late. PLEASE HELP

From what you have said, I think your main concern is becoming UN-AWOL. As long as she is taking her Birth Control every day, she should be fine.. Now with that said, you both should have avoided intercourse for about 1-4 weeks if she had Conization (cone Biopsy) or whatever her doctor advised at that time. If that is the procedure she had done and you both had sex, it could be easier for her to become pregnant because he cervix could still be open. Since the Biopsy was done a month ago, this could explain her being 2 days late was well. In reality a menstrual period is considered late if it is 5 or more days overdue according to your usual pattern of periods. A period is considered missed if there is no menstrual flow for 6 or more weeks. So if at this point she is showing 2 days late, then go to the store.. get some flowers and a HPT There is one on the market called First Response, it states it can detect pregnancy up to 5 days before a period is even missed. Make sure you both follow the directions exactly and also, use the first morning urine as well.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!
