Hi there. I have a few questions. I am concerned that I might be pregnant.
The first day of my last menstrual cycle was December 19, 2005.
I had intercourse with my husband on December 26th, 2005.
I was supposed to have started a new pack of birth control pills (Yasmin) on December 25th, however I left them at home. (We were
out of town for the holidays). Anyway, I believe I was to have had my period on January 16th, 2005, however I am late. I have taken
several pregnancy tests, however all say negative. I did a blood test on January 11th, and that too said negative. I did a clear blue easy yesterday, January 17th, and today January 18th, but still both came out to be negative. If I have done my calculations correctly,
I should have ovulated around January 2nd.

Could sperm have lived inside my body from the time I had intercouse to the time I should have ovulated (December 26- January 2nd)?. Do you think I even ovulated because I have been on the pill for so long? (On and off for about 2 years).

Could my period be late, because I am not on the pill this month?

Has it been to early to test for the hcg hormone in my body, or should it have up by now?

I feel like I have experienced a few pregnancy symptoms, but I really only felt them for like one day, and that was last week.
I felt really tired, and had a strange taste in my mouth. I also
didn't have much of an appetite for that day, and felt really hot that night. Could these be symptoms of quitting the pill as well?

Sperm only lives on average 3-5 days. Chances are you ovulation was off since you had not continued the pill. Which can take up to 3 cycles for all to become normal again. Therefore causing a missed period as well. If you were pregnant from the 26th of December when you had sex and you had a blood test on the 11th, it would have showed up. On a good home test it can show up 10-14 days after conception. The few symptoms you feel may be due to no longer giving your body the pill. So at this point it does appear as though you are not pregnant. Also if you are stressed about it or keep thinking you may be.. your body can naturally suppress your own period as well. But I do feel this is more of the pill than yourself.. So if things don't start to get normal after next month, then I would revisit the doctor for further evaluation.. But for now, don't stress over it, because it does appear as though you are not. But if you do have sex between now and then.. it is possible to become pregnant since you don't know when ovulation will occur.
