Sent to Health Experts January 26, 2006 9:14 p.m.

My OB told me that I should be consuming about 2200 calories a day. I'm trying to stick to this plan, but I over did it tonight with foods I didn't know were so high calorie (until afterwards when I checked out the labels). I'm overweight and trying to watch that I don't keep gaining during the rest of my pregnancy.

Is it ok to eat less the next day after eating too much (for pregnant woman) or should I still stick to the 2200 calories that's normally recommended. I'm so afraid of putting on more weight since my doctors are already concerned I'm too heavy. Is there any "damage control" I can do?

Hi Rachel

Stick to the 2200 calories a day. It's okay to over indulge once in awhile. One meal once in awhile really won't make too much difference.

Just being aware that you ate too much is good. It will help you make better choices next time. Chock it up to a learning experience.
