Could it be hertitery to get pregnant while on birth control?

Already Tried:
Been on the pill for the last year. But fiance is home on leave for 15 days. Im affraid that if i still am on the pill that i could get pregnant just like my mom did.

No it is not hereditary, but birth control pills are not 100% effective. The only thing that is 100% effective is abstinence. I have known a few women who have gotten pregnant while on the pill, even with diligence in taking their pill every day. When used correctly, the birth control pill is 92-99.7% effective as birth control.
