Do all pregnant women who experience premature rupture of the membranes - or water breaking - go into labor within a certain amount of time? (especially those who are not near term) Or can a woman experience water breaking and not know it?

Also, what might cause constant wetness? I'm 29 weeks and experience wetness, wet underwear especially after exercising (walking) - my doctor did a nitrazine test yesterday and said I wasn't leaking amniotic fluid - however it still confuses me what it might be.

Most of the time you will know when your water is breaking, it will either come out in a gush or slowly drip but it drips enough to where it will wet a towel in a couple of hours just like if you had washed the towel. Not all women go into labor when their water breaks but once the water breaks if that does not occur then they usually induce once you have lost your amniotic fluid but if your doctor performed a test and says you are not leaking fluid then I would not be concerned at this point, it just may be that now since you are getting into the last triamester of your pregnancy that your body is sweating a bit more especially after walking since it takes more energy to carry around the extra weight that you have put on throughout your pregnancy. That and along with the fact you still have a certain amount of discharge even when you are pregnant can be the cause of the wetness that you are feeling. But when your water breaks it is like busting a water balloon and you will be able to tell once this occurs.
