i didn't have my period while i was on birth

i didn't have my period while i was on birth contol, so i waited until the next month to start the next cycle, well i didn't have my period for 7 months, then i finally had 1, but that was in december, and haven't had one since,what could be wrong? and is it impossible to get pregnant while all this is going on, because my husband wants to have a baby?
