Question

Hello, I am on Birth Control Pills and have

Sent to Health Experts May 25, 2006 9:09 a.m.

Hello,

I am on Birth Control Pills and have been for about 6 years now. I had my period on 10 May. I just started a new pack of pills on 14 May. I have missed 6 days of pills. I doubled up yesterday when I realized that I had missed my pills. I have not been spotting. My nipples are real tender and have been for several days. Should I continue to double up on my pills or just skip to the day I am supposed to be on? I have also been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Is there a possibility I could be pregnant? Can you please let me know what I should do as far as my pills? For several days now when me and my boyfriend have sex, my ovaries or something inside my cervix hurts. I don't if it is gas or what, but it stops hurting after sex. What could that be?

First thing you should do is see your doctor to make sure you are not pregnant since you have had sex. As this is highly possible. If you are not pregnant, then you will keep taking one pill every day until Sunday. On Sunday, set aside the rest of the pack and start taking a new pack of pills. Use a backup form of birth control for two weeks. Which the symptoms you are having may be due to pregnancy or just due to the change in hormones from the missed pills. But do confirm via blood testing you are not pregnant.
