I am 5 months pregnant and going through Percocet withdrawls. I have been on Percocet for the past 8 months, becasue I fell down the stairs and broke my Sacrum. I am waiting for spinal surgery after my baby is born. I need to know how to cope with the withdrawls. Are there any tricks for easing them??? My doctor was trying to wean me off of them, and told me to take a certain amount, but when I went to get my refill, he told me it was to soon. I have been doing exactly what he told me to do, and I KNOW Im not to soon, but he doesnt seem to remember. So, I cannot get a refill until Wensday, and Id like to just stop taking them all together if Im going to be not taking them this long... I know I need to stop so my baby is born without being addicted. Anyway, I need to know what will help me go through this. I havent been abl to eat, because I keep getting severe stomache cramps, and I cant get a wink of sleep because my legs are all twitchy. I already KNOW what the syptoms are, I just need to know how to deal with them. My doctor doesnt seem to care that Im going through withdrawls.

Hi,

Well first off congratulations on taking the first step in bettering you and your child's life. Unfortunately these pills are extremely easy to get addicted to when used for pain.

As I am sure you already know it takes about 4-5 days for the withdraws to go away. But there are little thins that you can do to ease the discomfort. he very best trick is to take a hot bath at the worst sign of symptoms it will help alleviate the pain and discomfort. I know the restless leg problems are a pain when trying to sleep so if you can get a hold of a heating pad to place your legs on at night it may help. (A good vibrating massager can help with leg cramps as well.

For the nausea saltine crackers and Ginger ale will work wonders also peppermints will ease the sick feelings. You can take some aleve to help with the cramping. Above all make sure you are getting plenty of fluids as it will help keep your body hydrated and make you feel a little better.

A natural trick for getting some sleep is to get plenty of fresh air and exercises. Maybe go to the local YMCA and ask for a visitors pass it is good or 3 days (and it is free) you can use the pool to swim and tire yourself out. Also they have a wonderful water aerobics class that can help as well. They also have a hot tub which you can put your legs in to help ease the jumpiness.

Just keep telling yourself this is only 5 days at worst you can get though this. I agree with your rationality if you have to go a few days without the pills you might as well get it over with now. Good luck and I wish you the best. Please let me know how you are doing and if you need anything please feel free to ask.

Walter
