I just found out that I am pregnant - 4 months and I have been having cocktails and small amounts of cocaine here and there (a line or two 3x within the last 4 months) when out. I have now stopped all partying but am concerned about the baby.

Could there be any reprocussions? I appreciate your advise!!

As I'm sure you know there are risks involved. Which could be low birth weight, smaller head than the body, however, there are woman that have used daily and had a perfect baby as well. It's good that you have stopped, although you have used, you have not used a lot. Which some woman who do use a lot may even have a miscarriage within the first couple of months.

At this point, you really need to let your OB doctor know this. Let him/her know you have stopped, etc. and do not plan to use. Since you just found out you were pregnant, you will have an ultra sound which will show how the baby is doing, size etc., and will have much better idea of knowing if all is OK. since you have used cocaine such a short time, withdrawal symptoms shouldn't be there for the baby. Plus as I stated above, there are even plenty of woman that use illegal and prescribed medications during the first few months because just as you, didn't know they were pregnant. So this is very common.

So just be honest with your doctor so you and the baby can get the best of care... and your doctor will be able to help you better..

Congrats.. and best of luck to you Hun. Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *accept* button!
