Question

Dropping progesterone at 10 weeks of pregnancy

Sent to Health Experts June 07, 2006 1:23 p.m.

This is my 4th prgnancy in 13 months. I'm 38 now and 10W2D pregnant based on yesterday's ultrasound. Normal development normal heart beat. My progesterone levels were as follows. 4w- 44, 5W- 40, 6W- 34, 7W-24, 8W- 25, 9.5W- 19... the doctor took another test yesterday but if its still below 20, he is going to put me on progesterone suppository. I have been on it twice before (previous pregnancy and earlier during this pregnancy) and started with a yeast like discharge (immediately), spotting by the 2nd day and bleeding by the 3rd day. Both were suspected twin pregnancies (I am a double ovulator, I guess). Drs insist they were coincidence, but I don't agree. Because of my negative reaction of progesterone in the past, can progesterone this far in my pregnancy affect my health fetus? When will the placenta take over, and will my progesterone start to go up when the placenta takes over? This is the furthest I've gotten with any pregnancy with positive indicators. BTW: I also have VanWillebrand Disease but my clotting factors seem to become normal during pregnancy. Please advise- LexReca
