Being pregnant limits the available medication you can take without a doctor's permission. However depending upon the reason for the toothache, we may be able to reduce the cause of the pain.

Can you tell me when this started?

Can you describe the type of pain, where it is located?

What makes it better or worse?

Is there any swelling of the gum, jaw or lymph nodes?

Is there a missing filling, receeding gum or other visible sign of damage to the tooth?

When was the last time you saw a dentist?

Thanks, I will try and help.

Reply to Pauline's Post: well, I first felt the pain months ago when a filling came out and my tooth is now chipped badly. I can definately see the decay inside the tooth. It went away so I thought I could just wait till after the baby was born. Since wed. it has been almost unbearable. It is a throbbing pain just around that tooth that comes and goes.no swelling as of yet. I should have called then, but now I can't been seen until mon. I was up to date with all my dental work last year but I haven't seen a dentist since last year. thankyou
