Could I still be pregnant?

A little background first. Previous periods were May 27, June 27, and June 24, all lasting 2-3 days. I believe I was ovulating on Fri 8/4 (see symptoms below that I experienced on 8/4) and my nipples were tender from 8/3 until today. Is it possible to have symptoms similar to pregnancy during ovulation (i.e. tender breasts, cramps, nausea, tiredness, frequent urination, shakiness)? Also, I used protection from 7/30 through 8/6, was that long enough during the ovulation cycle to miss fertilization? Will my breasts be tender until my next period (I'm estimating it to be 8/20)? Isn't that too early for PMS? I have an active sex life, sometimes 2-3 times a day and since I thought that I ovulated on Friday I assumed I was safe with unprotected sex last night (8/7), but when I did an ovulation calendar, it said I should be ovulating yesterday or today. Do I listen to my body or the medical facts?

Let me try to answer your questions in a general way..
Given the fact that you were using protection you should not presently be pregnant, but none of the methods of birth control is 100 % effective.
Trying to have sex solely on the basis of your menstrual dates is very likely to get your pregnant sooner than later, because due to many reasons it may be difficult to predict that the exact ovulation date, hence protection is recommended during the entire cycle rather than intermittently.
Your symptoms are possibly due to hormonal changes that may be related to ovulation or less likely due to pregnancy, a urine pregnancy test should be done at present and maybe repeated after a couple of weeks if the symptoms persist and you do not get your periods..

Reply to Gaurav Gupta's Post: I understand the risks of having unprotected sex during the menstrual cycle, a chance that me and my partner are willing to take. We plan on having a family in the near future and if it happens earlier than expected, we are okay with that. For this reason, I do not want to go on any other form of birth control, other than condoms, which are very irritating to me vaginally. I guess my question is more about my cycle and whether or not it's possible to experience such a wide array of symptoms during ovulation vs pregnancy. I pride myself on being very much in touch with my body but having such strong symptoms so early in my cycle confuses me. And I think it would be too early to detect a pregnancy on a urine test right now. Have you ever heard of anyone experiencing the above symptoms during ovulation?

Relist: I still need help.
Could I please get some medical advice? I took a pregnancy test on Sat (8/12) and the test was negative. I am still exhibiting some of the same symptoms which led me to believe that I was pregnant. They are, frequent urination, exhaustion, tender breasts (just in the nipple area). Is it possible these are all PMS symptoms that I've never noticed before? I'm not due to receive my period until around the 20th, and so that seems like an awfully long PMS cycle. The pregnancy test I took was 50 (as far as sensitivity) so I feel that if the hormone is strong enough to cause symptoms than the hormone would be strong enough to show up on the test. Would it be possible to exhibit symptoms and still have a false negative result? What are some other medical reasons that I would be having these symptoms? I am also feeling occasional nausea. I get up at least 3-4 times during the night to urinate. Please advise.
