I have a question about drugs and pregnant women

I have a friend who just found out that his wife is pregnant. The night before she was on her period they had sex. My friend told me he was high on crytsal meth at that time. He worried, his question is, can that effect the baby in any way and if so what are they?

There is little if any chance that this one time will affect the baby, but it can if continued possibly affect their unborn child if sperm that has crystal meth in it continues to be discharged into her with unprotected sexual intercourse. But that is also not very common as it has more to do with the woman and anything she uses that may go into her bloodstream but since it is possible since any sperm can be absorbed through her system that if he does continue to use that he uses condoms for best protection to her and the unborn child. Some of the possible effects can be mental retardation, born addicted to the substance, early and pre-term births, underweight newborns, and also organ damage that can affect any of the major organs such as the kidneys, liver, or heart. While chances are very minimal that this has caused any damage to the unborn child full precaution is key to not taking a chance that this could cause damage to her fetus so he does need to use condoms at all times for best chance there will be no complications.

Reply to Cheryl K.'s Post: Okay so if you're on meth and you have sex, does the meth in any way harm your sperm?
