Hello and welcome to Just Answer;

I believe you may have gotten the spelling wrong and to further assist you I have the following questions:

Are you refering to a colonoscopy, procedure used to detect bowel changes?

Or, are you refering to a colonstomy, which an operation is done to reroute the bowel to be collected in a bag?

That is ok. It is very common for this mispelling to occur.

A colonscopy is performed to detect changes in the large intestine/bowel. This procedure allows the physician to see if inflamed tissue, abnormal growths, and ulcers are present. It is most often used to look for early signs of cancer in the colon and rectum. It is also performed when unexplained changes in bowel habits are noticed and to evaluate symptoms like abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, and abnormal weight loss.
