Hello

You are mostly suffering from umbilical sepsis, where the umbilicus is connected to the inside of the abdomen which causes this type of on and off infection with bleeding and foul smelling discharge.

From your symptoms it seems to be a chronic problem, which should be taken care. The standard protocol is antibiotics, regular cleaning of the umbilicus and local antibiotic cream.

But if it does not respond you may have to under go surgery to disconnect the connection between the umbilicus and abdomen and thorough cleaning of the wound and removal of any debris like hair which would cure the condition.

I would suggest you see your doctor who can take a call depending upon the situation.

I hope this helps you.

Regards.

Hello

Hernia with lot of pus , discharge and pain is an emergency condition and you can not carry it this longer as long as ten years. So I would think more in terms of sepsis.Yes this infection can gradually give rise to a umbilical hernia due to gradual weakening of the umbilicus.
