Hi, I just wanted to get some information on Herpes Simplex Virus Type-1 (HSV-1). My girlfriend has recently informed me that she suffers from Cold Sores, which a symptom of the virus stated above. I''m aware that the virus is contagious during the period when an active sore is present, but otherwise, what are my chances of contracting it? Are there certain sexual activities I should avoid? Can you give me any other useful information?
