My husband passed away almost four years ago. Should his doctor still have his medical records, and, will I be able to get them?

The doctor will still have his medical records. However, medical offices do not give out records. Copies of records may be requested with permission from a patient. In your situation, the policy may vary but basically you would either be considered the "representative of the estate for deceased patients" and you will probably have to provide a copy of the death certificate and a copy of the representative of estate documents or a power of attourney document. There isn't usually a fee for releasing copies to other healthcare providers but if you want them released directly to you then there may be a fee, which the amount varies.
