Breast pains

I breast feed my two children for about a year. My youngest is now 1 1/2. lately i have been feeling short sharp pains in my breast. I give myself breast exams and feel no lumps. Could this be a side affect from my milk ducts shrinking/ Or could this be a serious problem?
