what are the small light spots that appear on black skin as they age would this be just age spots? I started getting them in my forties

You most likely have Vitiligo which show on the skin as large or small white spots on smooth skin. That is a symptom that the melonacyte cells are beginning to degenerate and needs to be treated by a Doctor. The reason for this is unknown.

I suggest if you are seeing alot of these white spots that you contact your physician so they can do a thorough examination to make sure there are no other underlying causes of the spots.
