I have an infant 11 days old that navel is bleeding. It has not fallen off yet but is starting to bleed enought to fill both ends of a Q-tip. What should I do?

This can be normal in some cases and may continue a little until it falls off Keep it clean and also call your ob/gyn and let them know it has not fallen off but the bleeding has started and seems a bit excessive, as you don't want it to become infected. They may want to see your infant as a precaution nothing is wrong other than normal umbilical chord process. It may be wanting to seperate and is unable for some reason.
