sharp pain around belly botton

For the past week I get sharp pains around my belly button and sharp pains in my stomach, is this normal? Is this something I need to get check out or will it pass?

No this is not normal and could be a gastrointestional disorder, ulcer, or even a problem with your gallbladder. If the pain continues or increases then I do suggest that you make an appointment with your physician who can run bloodwork and x-rays to determine the exact cause behind your abdominal pain. If this has been going on for a week I suggest going ahead and making an appointment for a check-up and in the meantime monitor your abdominal pain. If it does pass then you can cancel the appointment but this symptom is not normal and needs to be addressed as soon as possible especialy if the pain continues or grows in intensity.
