During a recent Health Fair, blood test results came back as high in two areas, Potassium at 5.7 and Platelet count at 401. Are these results slightly out of average range or something I should discuss with a physican?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Normal potassium level in adults is 3.5–5.0 milliequivalents per liter (mEq/L) or millimoles per liter (mmol/L) so it isn't too much out of range. Medications, laxatives, and suppliments can affect the results.
As far as platelet count,a normal count is about 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter (x 10–6/Liter) of blood so you are fine in that respect.
