36 f 190 lbs had a meniscal tear in left knee approximately ...

36 f 190 lbs had a meniscal tear in left knee approximately 20 years ago and recently found out after accident (twisted knee on wet floor) i now have a completely torn acl what are the chances that these two injuries are connected.i haven't had any problems with the knee since the first injury 20 years ago besides minor arthritis.is there a link between the two?

They are separate injuries. It is possible it was strained or weaken 20 some years ago. Once tendons, ligaments etc get twisted, stretched, sprained, they never heal quite the same. So it may have had slight damage from before.. and then when you twisted your knee, you then tore it. (because it was never as strong as if you had no prior knee problem) So in one aspect, they are not related.. in another aspect they are.
