Question

ankle ulcers due to circulatory problems from lots of hip and leg surg

Sent to Health Experts June 05, 2004 12:24 p.m.

ANKLE ULCERS DUE TO A WHOLE LOT OF HIP AND LEG SURGERY. SHOULD I CONSULT A CIRCULATORY PHYSICIAN RATHER THAN A WOUND CARE CLINIC. THEY HAVEN’T SEEMED TO HELP. I HAVE HAD 20 HIP AND LEG SURGERIES, INCLUDING A FEMUR REPLACEMENT, HIP REPLACEMENTS AND A KNEE REPLACEMENT. STARTED DEVELOPING FOOT AND ANKLE ULCERS ABOUT 11 YEARS AGO. EVERYONE, INCLUDING MY ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON, TELL ME TO GO TO WOUND CARE CLINICS. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY HELP OR NOT. IT SEEMS LIKE THE VEINS COULD BE REPLACED, TO CURE THIS PROBLEM. WHERE DO I GO? I AM AT A LEVEL 4 WITH MY ANKLE NOW, AND I'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING. I LIVE IN TERRELL, TEXAS, ABOUT 30 MILES EAST OF DALLAS. THANKS.
