my friend's baby was diagnoised with herpes 1 i believe that is the one with cold sores,the baby broke out with rash and they are doing mri on it, a scan for brain damage, she has not called me yet to tell me results. This is the question, i got genital herpes 24 years ago and have been responsiable, married to same man ect.. but the mother of the baby wants everyone tested for herpes who held the baby after it was born, i believe the baby is now 2 weeks old. I have had 8 children of my own and never that i know of given my children herpes, i have never gotten a cold sore ever on my mouth, so i believe i dont have that herpes, but the mother of the baby says its the same kind, and i could of given it to the baby, i never kissed the baby ever or touched the baby's face or hands, only its clothed body and baby blanket. the mother says that i could of still given it to the baby cause i could of droped flaked lesions on the baby that came off my hands even though i washed my hands before i touched the baby.. her premisis is that when i wipe after a tee, or just having a pubic area where herpes break out now maybe once every one or 2 years, i may not know i am breaking out and spread the virus which was on me somewhere, clothes on my hands, and i touched the clothed baby's back when i held him.   Help me everyone blaims me, my sister told them i had genital herpes. its horriable here, i think i lost my best friend for it was her grand child, i don't know what to do, except find the truth about how i could of given this baby type 1 herpes?
