I am a 50 year old male in fairly good health (5'9", 160 pounds). I have a physical every year and have pre-hypertension (treated with Cozaar) which keeps it normal and I take glaucoma drops. The only other thing that shows up in my annual physical is that my platelet count consistently runs a little below the normal range.

A few weeks ago I started having severe gas, a change in bowel movement frequency (from every other day to once a day with urgency), and bloating and swellling in the stomach area. Along with this, I am getting some blood when I blow my nose (just a little, once a day). I've never had this before.

The gas has passed, so to speak, and my bowels have returned to their normal every other day pattern, but the bloating/distension is still very prevalent.

My physical this year isn't until May. Is this something that I should have checked prior to then? And what might it be?

Thanks for your consideration,

MikeOptional Information: Male , Age: 50Already Tried: Gas X.

Hi Customer (name blocked for privacy),

Your platelet count needs to be checked again .May be it is lower now more than before causing a nose bleed. You may need tests to find out the reason of low platelet count.
For bloating and distention you can continue taking Gas x. Sometimes if you change your diet to high fiber diet you can get bloathing and distention for a while and it goes away when your body get used to it.
