I put my ortho patch on the top of my leg this week and did not read that that it should be placed higher till today Do you think I am still protected against pregnancy?

Hi,

The absorption of the hormones will not be as good as a patch which was applied higher.Because skin is thinner in the higher area than the top of your leg. Check the Ortho Patch patient information for instructions and call the manufacturer of the Ortho Patch if you can not find an answer in the patient information for instructions. In the mean time you can use a backup method for birth control.
