My mother had an episode of syncope, falling and breaking her hip. Immediately following surgery, she went into atrial fibrillation. Her AF failed to respond to cardioversion but did respond to digoxin. She is now on coumadin and digoxin, but I wonder if this is the optimum drug regime for preventing her from going back into AF or having a stroke. What meds would you advise?
