is it possible for me to still get my own health insurance even though i'm already covered from my mother's health insurance?

Hello.....

You can get insurance as secondary to your mothers insurance or you can use your moms coverage as secondary.

Also you can use both insurances.
You can be covered by as many diffrent companys as you choose. Most insurance companys will ask if you are covered by someone eles. And if you plan on cancelling that insurance.
