about a month and a half ago my horse made a quick sideways stop and threw me off and I hit a cow pannel on my left rib around the lung and breast area. I had x-rays and it showed no borken ribs but It did bruise my ribs, skin and lung. About 1 week ago I was pulling on my dogs collar and I felt a pop on my left side and it hurt like crazy and again it hurts to take a deep breatk just as it did when I originally hit my ribs on the rail. My brother said it was probably a tear in the plural lining of my lung. Could this be true?
I am taking Motrin and it somewhat helps and so does ice.

This is more likely a tear in the cartilage between your ribs. This will be painful with inspiration until it is healed
Antiinflammatories are used to decrease the pain and are best taken around the clock (ex 3 motrin 3 times daily) It can take weeks for this to heal
