Knee Injury

My knee has been sore for a little while. I sliped on ice a while back and landed with my knee bent and my leg under me as i fell backwards. since then my knee has been sensitive to being bent or side motion but its been well enough to put up with. but had been gettng a bit worse. This is mostly a sharp stabing pain, this pain is on the back (soft side) of the knee. Last night while walking I felt this snap or pop. It stoped me in my tracks, I swear I could almost say I heard it but let there be no doubt I certianly felt it. Almost like something was out of place and re-set itself. When I woke up this morning my knee is swollen, and brearing wegiht or trying to bend it, is out of the quesiton without that instant sharp pain. With it being a weekend not wanting to go to the ER My questions are what might I have done to it, and what therapy for inflamation can I use until I am able to see and Sports Dr. Thanks for your time

Hi,

It is possible that there is ACL tear of the knee.Sometimes there is also mild damage to the meniscus and the collateral ligament. You may have bleeding inside of the knee.
So beside taking Naproxan you can put ice on the knee and elevate the leg when you sit down.
Basically that is all you can do.
