I have a mole on my leg close to my groin area since

I have a mole on my leg close to my groin area since birth. It has been a dark brown and has never given me any problems. I am 43 and now it has started to get sore, also it has turned a redish brown, it also has the apperance of swelling at the end of it as if a continuation without the color of the mole. Any idea's?
