It is likely that the owner of the vehicle will still recieve a ticket and have to pay it. He can go to court and contest this though, the judge will have to take all factors into consideration. The chances of the owner getting out of paying the ticket will probably be slim. The owner of the vehicle should be notified and the person driving the car should appear in court with him to take responsibility for the action.
