Sent to Health Experts June 09, 2006 10:14 a.m.

I have a little lump right under my left earlobe. It just started yesterday afternoon, and has grown since yesterday afternoon. It looks a little red, but nothing that looks like it could ooze with liquids. I have tried to squeeze it to get whatever it is, out - but it's not happening. It looks/feels like an ingrown hair, or a big zit that will not pop. I thought, maybe it's a sweat gland, or another gland of some sort? It hurts, and is really tender. I am also pregnant. Anyone have any ideas of what this could be? I thought of maybe putting a hot compression on it for a while to see if that would help. It feels like it would... Any answers would be very appreciated!! Thank you.

A hot compress is just what I would suggest. If it came up suddenly it could be a small abscess formation, but would be tender most likely. This could be a sebaceous cyst, which may need to be surgically drained. But I would try the compresses first.
