herpes question
Sent to Health Experts June 25 12:54 PM

hello,
i am a 24 year old girl. i woke up this morning with a large cyst like bump in my vaginal area. i have been with the same partner for over two years now and he does not have any STD's. a few days ago, he woke up with a cyst like bump along his jawline on his face. it felt exactly what i feel right now in my vaginal area. we are wondering if this could be an insect bite? the bump does not appear to be pussing over or scabbing over, although i scratched it earlier this morning. i am wondering if this sounds like herpes?

From your description it doesn't sound like it. Generally herpes is a Small red bumps which appear first, develops into small blister, and then become itchy, painful sores that might develop a crust.

You may have an infected follicle/cyst which is common. I would apply a warm compress to the area which will promote for it to burst. Don't try to squeeze this, as that can cause further infection. Keep an eye on your boyfriends sore just to make sure it's not the same description as stated above. If by doing the warm compress doesn't help, then to be on the safe side, do see your doctor. As if this is a cyst, it may need to be drained. At this point, it doesn't appear to be STD related.

Hope this helps, If you need anything else please feel free to ask. If you found this helpful don’t forget to click the *Accept* button.
