Is it possible to have a fractured ankle and be able to ...
Sent to Health Experts July 07 01:38 AM

Is it possible to have a fractured ankle and be able to walk without pain? I fell on the side of a pool 2 weeks ago. It swelled and was painful for the first 2 hours. After that the pain ceased. My ankle was bruised from the bottom of my foot to midcalf.   There is also a large bump. While it isn't really painful, unless touched or bumped, it is a concern. I can walk and bare weight without any pain.

You can have what is called a hair line fracture which is just a crack instead of an actual break. what it sounds as though you had was a badly sprained ankle.

by now healing has taken place. If your not having any pain when walking then you should be fine. You may encounter problems as you grow older. You may want to go ahead and have it x-rayed although the regrowth has already occured.
