Hepatitis C is rarely transmitted through sexual activity.

Transmission during sex occurs only when infected blood is present. The risk of hepatitis C tranmission is greater during rough sex or unprotected anal sex, or any other activity where blood is present. Even very small injuries or tears to body tissues causing minute or invisible amounts of blood, will increase the risk of transmission. To reduce the risk of infection, water-based lubricants, condoms, latex gloves and/or dams are recommended.

Dr. Yetimyan, You did not answer my question. He refuses to use a condom. What is the chances % of me getting this Hep. C? By the way I don't bleed ie: I had a hysterectomy. So is it okay or not? I don't do drugs either, never did.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Transmission is rare but it can happen , i did not read % so far in the reading materials but my guess would be a small percentage. Any mucosal or skin abrasion or cut even a very small cut during sex can cause very small amount of bleeding that you can not see with your eyes and virus can be transmitted to your body from this cuts and abrasions. Having or not having any hysterectomy doesn't make any difference.
