Postoperative Neurogenic Pain (abdominal incision)
Sent to Health Experts July 11 09:12 AM

Can you give me some answers on postoperative incisional pain after a procedure I had done 2/1/06 called a Burch Retropubic Urethropexy? I also had done at the same time a bilateral tubal ligation, had a rectocele and enterocele fixed, and A and P vaginal repairs. Everything went really well and I no longer have incontinence or consitipation. However, my incision is still not "healed" I don't think. Although it looks good, it still hurts. Does it take this long to heal? When I turn wrong or even cough sometimes, it still hurts. My doc says it's neurogenic pain and he "could" treat it, with medications, but do you think meds are necessary or should I be concerned it's something more? I am 36 and had one child in 2002. Thanks.
