Hello. Can you please explain how air can be trapped in the vagina without vaginal intercourse? I often have air escaping from my vagina, especially when my body is in certain positions. This sometimes occurs when I have not had sex recently, and sometimes it occurs when my boyfriend and I are angaging in foreplay or are about to have sex. I do not regularly exrecise, so can this be caused just from daily life? I have not been able to find much info. on this that doesn't have to do with intercouse. Is it normal for this to occur without intercourse? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks!

Yes air can get trapped in your body just not as common as it does when engaging in sexual intercourse. Also when you get aroused and cause the walls of your vagina to become moist and can cause the feeling of air escaping. You will find that it is not something that is talked alot about when not discussing sexual intercourse but if you notice it more when during foreplay, it is the same as when it happens with the actual act of sexual intercourse. I would not worry as this is something that can be a normal part of life for you when you become aroused as it can always effect women in different ways. When you seem to notice it in certain positions when not engaging in sexual intercourse then it is just air that is escaping but nothing that is out of the ordinary.
