what would be some reasons why my 12 year old has bowel movements in her pants and then doesn't even realize that she did it?

Hello,

I would sugges that you make an appointment for her to be seen by a colorectal specialist as soon as possible for an accurate diagnosis.

It can be that she is too busy to stop and go to the bathromm and has an accident before she can control it.

If she really has not idea that she has gone, then this is of concern, as she may have some nerve damage in the anal sphincter. Continence depends on functioning muscles and nerves in and around the rectum and anal canal.
