I have pain in the balls of both my feet.
Sent to Health Experts July 31 02:35 PM

I have pain in the metatarsal area of both my feet. The pain is more in my right foot. The pain extends from the ball of my feet toward the big toe. I was advised to start using insoles. This has helped but I still have some pain when walking. When I walk around barefoot the pain is more. What should I do next? Can a podiatrist help?
Thank you.

A friend told me about the insoles. I first developed the pain about 8 weeks ago. When I first got the pain on my right foot I was limping quite a bit.

I started using the insoles about 6 weeks ago. At first the pain went down a lot - but for the past 3 weeks the pain has returned. The pain is not as bad as it was 8 weeks ago. I changed the insoles last week thinking that perhaps the insoles had worn out. The new insoles have helped when I walk with shoes. But, when I walk barefoot I can feel the pain.

Also, now I feel some pain on my left foot as well. The pain is worse on my right foot though.
Thanks.

No history of flat foot , no history of bunions suggest the possible cause of pain is increased pressure on the metatarsal heads. This can be due to constricting foot wear or high heel shoes. You should wear shoes that have a wider toe box.
