I had a small sore in my private area that came out of nowhere. I used antibiotic ointment on it for a couple of days and then went and saw a gynecologist who took a culture and asked if I was sexually active. I am married and have been for 5 years. I have been with 2 men in my entire life and I've been married to both of them. He asked if I had ever experienced these sores before, and I said "never!" I've never had coldsores on my lips, nor has my husband. I am waiting for lab results. Can you enlighten me? I am really upset!

Reply to V. Yetimyan   M.D.'s Post: I am getting really angry! Neither my husband or I have been unfaithful, so what gives? I have a sore, and right away, I have herpes! Can it be something that is not sexually transmitted, since neither my husband nor I have done anything to give me a disease. Can a woman get a sore, and from what?
