pain in my chest

i woke up this morning with a sharp aching pain in the middle of my chest all the way over to my right breast. Movement in the morning was uncomfortable. At work it was a low ache, this evening the pain has increased. It also hurt when i breath.??? What to do???

Do you remember doing anything that would have strained the muscles at all? Picking up a child, for example?

Is the area tender when you press on it?

Have you had a recent cold?

I have small children,so picking them up would not be out of the ordinary. I am feeling better today.

Yes, the area was tender when I pressed on it.
