I have had chest congestion with a dry cough for ...

I have had chest congestion with a dry cough for the past few days. it started with sneezing , runny nose,headache and general fatigue. I am not bed ridden(is that really a word) and functioning. I get tired and I am taking afternoon naps, which is very unlike me. It has been very hot here

It sounds like allergies--do you suffer from seasonal allergies? For the chest congestion and dry cough, take an expectorant like Robitussin to loosen the congestion and give you a more productive cough. Also sit in the bathroom with the shower on hot and breathe in the steam to loosen it up. The headache could be due to the dry coughing which puts pressure on the sinuses. For the other symptoms, try some Tylenol cold and sinus--this can safely be taken with the expectorant and will help to alleviate the sneezing and headache. This might make you a little fatigued though, but once you're cleared up you should feel a lot better. Also continue to push the fluids to keep hydrated.
