Swollen, Hot & Large Hard bump on top of knee cap

3 days ago my son came home with a pencil eraser size bump with a pussy head. He popped it and each day it has become larger, harder and swollen. Now his knee is hot inside and the hard bump is the size of his knee cap.

Benedryl, ice packs, peroxide & keeping the knee elevated.

Hi,
I am a physician and from what you are describing your son has possibly gotten a pustule that has become secondarily infected to lead to cellulitis. There is a chance that the knee joint may have been affected too (septic arthritis) by the infection. This is a SERIOUS problem and potentially needs IV antibiotics, your son should be seen by a physician / in the ER ASAP so that a proper diagnosis can be made and treatment started as needed,
